DOT in full swing for PPUR as new 7 wonders of nature

The Department of Tourism (DOT) is in the forefront in campaigning for the Puerto Princesa Underground River (PPUR) as the Philippines’ bet to the New 7 Wonders of Nature (N7WN).

In the next months, the DOT will conduct familiarization trips for the media and produce an episode in a produce an episode in a travel program in TV, to encourage media friends and countrymen to spread the word about the campaign and the natural wonder of the PPUR. It is hoped that through various advertisements, forum and voting stations, the PPUR’s bid to be in the N7WN will be strengthened.

Meanwhile, Secretary Alberto A. Lim recently met with the officials of the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FFCCCI). “I have made a pitch for them to support the program and I am happy that they have responded positively by saying they will encourage Mainland Chinese to vote as well,” the Secretary shared.

The Grand Media Launch at the Department of Environment and National Resources (DENR) was held Friday which was covered by around 200 media practitioners. This also kicked off the aggressive campaign towards the countdown to the Grand National Launch on August 25.

The next 3 months are expected to be crucial in the promotion and advertising activities of the Puerto Princesa Underground Ricer, before the announcement of the Top Seven Wonders of Nature on November 11, 2011.
