What we’re seeing in our nation today is an unraveling of unsustainable populist policies, and hopefully, the slow erasing of our addiction for entitlement, and perhaps a more responsible nation. The fare increase for public transport is years in the making. Years of populist policies have kept those rates fairly low, and unrealistic. Inflation happens, but it also shouldn’t mean that for consumers, the same state of vehicles roam our streets, and perhaps standards must be put in place to ensure that the riding public gets decent enough vehicles to ride in.
